This is gonna be a silly rant post. HAHAHA but I encourage you guys to humor me by flaming me for my stupid behavior.
My non dominant hand hurt like hell... This all from playing "the world ends with you" during the weekend and fighting one damn optional boss in hard mode for 3-4 hours more or less. Wahahaha
All of you may know that the DS is not ergonomically designed for big stubby hands using the shoulder buttons. It is practically designed for when you are using the stylus, you just place the thing on a table and tap, scratch and poke away at the touch screen. Well, "twewu" is actually played using both hands for "hardcore" level. The game designers really pushed the convention of playing with a dual screen that puts a big strain on your dexterity as well as your attention span. Well I think that those with ADD will probably love this thing.
I have my right hand hold the ds up and trying to push the face buttons (A,B,X,Y) and the shoulder buttons for several occasions. My right hand is busy doing that as I use my left dominant hand to handle the fast paced stylus action. Well fighting a certain optional boss really hurt my hand to the point I feel as if I have arthritis. Maybe I already have! LOL.
Well, took pain relievers and it felt great after a day and a half of hurting since yesterday and early this morning. However, as the effects of the pain reliever kicked in, I developed something rather like a light headache. Its not a hurting headache but it is like something heavy is placed in the back of my neck. Oh when will all these ailments go away.
Well those reading these will say that I maybe playing too hard and probably you are right LOL ^o^
But in my defense, the time I was playing with the game over the weekend was sporadic compared to the other times I played with other games. From time to time during Saturday, I just left the DS on mingle mode for several hours several times that day. It was around 3 times all throughout the day I think. The only real prolonged playthrough is that damn optional boss I curiously engaged with. I did not know that thing was an optional boss. The thing just looked different. I was also playing it on hard mode that really made things a lot complicated. It bested my pride. I am already about more than halfway in total available level for my character in nowhere near the middle of the main storyline of the game. Some random boss bests me?!? I had to kill the that boss character.
Well, the course of fighting the boss 3 times again and again before I get to win really hurt my hand. I can practically just play without using the shoulder buttons but there is a quirk in the gameplay that the controls sometimes get confused on the frantic stylus motions you input. So, they devised to remedy that by using "subs" so that you can have a more precise way of telling the control system that you want it to do something as opposed to without using the subs. That is what I did/used. With the "subs"... I can dish out 100 hit combos but with the price of trying to push the damn right shoulder button with my stubby right hand's finger(s). I was also forced by the fight to pay attention to both screens while with my other free finger(s) on the right hand to push the face buttons. Normally, I would just have the auto game for the screen above but this boss was in a difficulty level that I had to input commands for the other screen as well.
I will abstain from playing the ds for a while. HAHAHAHA... I'll just read manga. Soul Eater manga to be exact. It was ages since I read it and now that it is popular, I want to be re-antiquated with it
