Sonofabitch!
I was supposed to attend an open house today. What's the first thing you think of when you hear open house - you're going to see the place, right? When you sell your house, you have an open house so people can see what the house looks like. I assume it should work the same for apartments (I don't see why it wouldn't). I called my sister to meet me there, got on my bus (after missing the first one) and headed down. This apartment was over a spa, in an old century home so when we walked into the building we were in a foyer with a winding staircase going up and the doors to the spa in front of us. No signs about that there was an open house, no one in the lobby, nothing. The girls in the spa didn't know anything either. So we waited, and waited. After awhile we saw this old lady come downstairs and looked at us a little strangely, and asked if we were waiting for something. My sister replied that we were there to see the apartment for the open house.
"Oh it's already been rented."
What the fucking hell?! This lady was all excited too, talking about how she didn't have an apartment rent so fast before and that they had the money and everything. To top it off she didn't even stick around or post a note about the open house now obviously being canceled, she just left. Thanks for wasting my fucking time lady. That was nearly two hours I could have spent doing something productive and it was wasted traveling downtown then traveling back home. How many others were planning to attend this joke of an open house, taking time from work or other important commitments, only to end up wasting their fucking time too? You don't rent out on an open house! That's completely inconsiderate to the other people you told about the open house! It's not like this was a day of appointments, that's a different situation. You don't have an open house for your house and then sell it to the first person who says 'I wanna buy'. That's not the purpose!
I hope she pissed off a lot of people, and they complain along with me. That office deserves it.
