TVD VAMPIRE SIRE THEORY... MY TAKE/ SPECULATION!
Is the vampire sire bond developed from romantic feelings unlike the hybrid sire bond, which is developed from feelings of gratitude?That could be correct, THAT COULD BE IT!!
I mean her leaning towards Damon could be because she already was more inclined to him, but she could control it, she could handle the situation, and she wasn't "TEAM DAMON" so blatantly.
NOW the amplification has increased the intensity of this "inclination".
I was having a discussion with arabian where she introduced this topic, that MAYBE, the romantic feelings are not because of this sire crap, BUT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.. i.e. Elena already had STRONG feelings towards Damon, which got amplified due to vampirism..so what if this total agreement to Damon's words is because of her existing love or bond or everything that was there between her and Damon while she was a human?... The vampirism made her connection which was already there.. THAT much stronger? The theory is that with vampire sire bond it IS about loving someone. That a sire bond is created only with vampires who truly love each other (for example, Sage/Finn possibly had one -- she did wait 900 years for him).
She ALREADY had strong feelings for Damon, SO strong, that she had to make a choice between her "EPIC LUV" and the bad brother. So when THOS emotions got maginified, isn't it possible that the resultant effect became something like this "mate for life" bond or something loosely similar to that? I mean she already trusted Damon at times more than she did Stefan. In 4x05 Stefan says "You have to trust me" to her when Jeremy and Matt was kidnapped by Connor. It's like he was asking, forcing her to trust him. Like he knew that deep down she doesn't.
And waaaay back in S1 Ep 3 her answer to that SAME statement was "Trust is earned, I can't just magically hand it over".
Whereas Damon asked her if she trusted him with pure vulnerability on his face, and she answered him with conviction!!
So her agreement to Damon, is purely the result of her feelings that were there before. I think more than magnified it, the bond that they probably do share now (if the true love vampire sire bond theory is right) is rather enhanced.
