I hit my girlfriend in the side of the face with a pillow and made her cry. I'm sure it didn't help either that I did it right at the end of a sad movie. I said I'm sorry, and she said she knew I was -- that it was okay -- but she still left tonight with tears rolling down her cheeks. I wish I could have stopped her and held her and told her something magical that would have made that moment when she looked over at me in utter shock go away.

I'm an ass, and my stomach's just a big knot right now because of it.
