I suppose I'm long over due for an update. So lets get this party started.
Pseudosynthesis, the movie project that Erica and I were working on fell through due to various problems including budget and actors. We thought everybody who signed on would be able to pull their weight but once ski season hit none of them could care less about our project. Luckily Erica just pulled out one of her old films that she made and submitted that to her class. Hopefully once the summer hits we can start work again on this idea that me and Joe Norwood have been concocting. Joe's our oldest and saltiest raft guide, and knows his way around the Nolichucky river like it's nobody's business. Up until the 1940's there used to be a Prison that was less than a few miles away, which is how he and I got our inspiration for "Down River". It's a tale about a prison break with cons taking a rafting group hostage. Thanks to my dad's advice I've been seriously trying to sit down and pen this thing, with Joe's help. Since all of our friends are raft guides we wouldn't have to worry about gear or actors safety and would just have to focus on getting the right shots. I'm about halfway through with the story and it definitely needs some re-writes before I try to turn it into a screenplay. Hopefully I'll have my Myspace page set up by the time we start filming, which shouldn't be until at earliest April.
Besides the constant drudgery of working for tourists in a ski shop, the only thing worth noting I guess would be that my dad and I went up to Indiana three weeks ago. My great-great-great grandpa had a farm out there and we finally decided to sell it off. My grandpa moved to the city, so it's not like my family's a bunch of hardcore farmers. My dad used to live up there though when he was my age (until he accidentally burned down the house). Seeing as how I have never been there before and probably won't now I decided to come up with him to sign the title transfer. Saw the Ancestral farm, and what can I say? It looks like a farm. Took a rock from the field though, so now I'm the keeper of all that's left of it. My God is that place flat. All of Indiana...is flat. After we signed what the banker's needed my dad and I started back towards NC. Here's our conversation verbatim: "......Hey dad......" ".....yeah?" ".......didn't we just pass that farmhouse?" ".....no....couldn't have....." *ten minutes later* ".....there it is again!" "It can't be the same farmhouse Max, we've been driving in a straight line." *another few minutes* "Wait was that farmhouse gre-" "-yes dad, it was!" *Another ten minutes, another farmhouse that looks the same* *My dad* "Oh my god I think I'm losing my mind." So yeah, in conclusion, don't ever go to Indiana. Ohio was nice though, although Dayton kinda reminds me of Detroit..but cleaner.
That's all for now, I promise I'll make more updates in the future.
