Well here we are

Feb 22, 2021 23:22

We’ve been in Corona Virus lockdown all but essential shops, schools and businesses closed, and the PM has announced today a gradual easing of restrictions over the coming 4 months due to the roll out of the vaccines and it doing it’s job.

Quite what it’s been like to be at home every day with little income and social interactions outside of the immediate family is quite hard to grasp. When you’re in it like we are it feels like Groundhog Day. Every day the same. Fighting with Jasmine over who gets a lie in as there’s nothing else to be precious about. Cold, miserable weather keeping you indoors, or making for a rather unpleasant trip to the park outdoors. - thank goodness parks and nursery are still open this lockdown unlike last year’s March-July lockdown. That was truly horrific.

Not being able to see friends and family has really driven a wedge between us. This week I’ve been on a couple of walks with some chums and it’s been amazing to speak to a different person. I’m still not allowed to go into anyone else’s house or hug anyone and it’s shit. A lot of friends really struggling too and it’s hard to catch up and help when you’re expected to remain socially distanced.

March 2020-2021 will be remembered as being the worst lockdown in recent history. Then Brexit into the fray too and it’s all to shit.
