Woke up this morning realizing that, in a sick way, seeing where things are going for me at my employer in advance of being fired, allows me to somewhat prepare.
Realized I need to get a list of current colleague references.
So, that is the current task: to capture peers that I work with, their titles and work phone numbers, and ask them if they would feel comfortable being a work reference for me.
EDIT 20241121 Okay, have reached out to a handful of select colleagues via work email, asking them if they would feel comfortable being a job reference for me, if/when I get made redundant. Pleased by folks that said "yes" *wiping at eyes*.
Also sending contact requests on LinkedIn.
EDIT 20241123 Okay! I now have emailed myself a list of colleague work contacts that said they'd be comfortable being a job reference for me. Those that have LinkedIn accounts also let me add them as a contact. Had feels about it *wiping at eyes*.
