nethack - another attempt - asked reddit/nethack for tips for getting the BOTD from the WOY
Have now been able to get to the level with the vibrating square a few times.
For my current Lawful Valkyrie attempt, found the VS. Also have obtained all the invocation ritual items and candles. Now just need to successfully get the book of the dead, get to the vibrating square, and do the IR to make new progress in my 20+yrs of game attempts.
If I can obtain the BOTD, that will be a new "the farthest I've ever gotten" in the game. If I can successfully do the IR, that too would be the farthest I've ever gotten.
Because a previous game session, once the WOY awoke they killed off my Adventurer, asked the reddit/nethack group for suggestions.
One suggestion I will try for this game session, will be to wear gloves, and wield a footrice to turn the WOY to stone to then obtain the BOTD and try to attempt the IR.

Did some practice with wearing gloves and wielding a chickatrice. With humility, don't understand why I didn't realize to do the technique years earlier! Instead of having to take many game turns using traditional weapons to dispatch baddies, wielding a footrice makes the baddie turn to stone in like two turns!
