TNNT 2023
The November Nethack Tournament.
Will give it a try, again, this year. Am curious to see how I will do, how much further along I will get, compared to previous attempts.

EDIT 2023-10-13 Doing practice runs before November. Currently have Excalibur, XL11, finished Sokoban, wearing the amulet of reflection, just retrieved the luckstone from the deepest Gnome Mines level, then rose back to LVL1.

EDIT 2023-10-14 Found the Dev Team level. Found and returned all three "return to dev team" scrolls. They gave me a "really cool T-shirt" as reward. Fun!
Next is to keep doing recursive traversals of all dungeon levels until I can reach XL14, and begin the Quest.

EDIT 2023-10-15 Ah, humility. I had found a robe at a level near the Medusa level. Was going back up to LVL1, to test it, then make it fireproof. At The Big Room level, thought to just push through, even though there were many living monsters remaining. Tried to just dance past them without fighting back. Nope! They killed off my XL11 Adventurer. Died.
Again: ah, humility!

EDIT 2023-10-22 So, now that I got used to game play, and died, I am trying to not keep playing until the TNNT officially starts in November. Just playing my Debian Stable workstation's version of nethack via xnethack, until November arrives.

EDIT 2023-11-03 Now playing TNNT 2023, officially. 1st attempt, died shortly after achieving Excalibur. Now on my 2nd attempt.
For the 2nd attempt, currently have Excalibur, -2 armor, XL9 Lawful Valkyrie. Solved Sokoban, but _wow!_ this TNNT version of Sokoban has a Fire Elemental in the final Sokoban Level. Fire Elementals and Fire Ants give more damage, faster, than my Debian Stable version of the game.
So, even though I solved Sokoban, I couldn't complete by entering the final room to get the Amulet Of Reflection or a Bag, yet. Had to exit Sokoban, and try to get more armor level or become Fire Resistant, or find a Wand Of Cold, etc, before I can go back and try to dispatch that Fire Elemental.

EDIT 2023-11-10 Attempt three ended. Adventurer was XL11, had Sting, Excalibur, had finished the Gnome Mines, had a luckstone, bag, and pick-axe. Had finished Sokoban. Had amulet of reflection.
Had found and visited the priest of the 1st Quest Level, but since was below XL14 (warrior), couldn't begin the Quest.
Made it past the Big Room (barely). Was only able to dispatch one or two monsters before fleeing to the stairs to the level below the Big Room. Lost a lot of health in the attempt.
Sadly, died in the levels just below the Big Room, due to low health + low armor. Hadn't been able to find/create good armor. Prevented the strategy to escape danger by going back up to less dangerous levels, as the Big Room was too dangerous to re-attempt. Was only AC2, and died by a squad of Gray Elf or Green Elf (can't remember which).
