geek pride - geek socializing - would like to find a local geek social group to belong to
Was watching a documentary online over the weekend.
As part of the documentary, the host of the show went to a pride event for the first time. Liked seeing the acceptance and synergy between the host and those they talked with at the event, and their happiness to find like minds and acceptance.
Made me realize, and not for the 1st time, that I crave having a local geek social group to become a part of.
I've basically stopped attending the http://www.sgvlug.org/, because the social camaraderie I desire, was lacking for me.
Hopefully via word-of-mouth, or online via things like https://www.meetup.com/, I'll be able to find one. *fingers crossed*
