2011 Honda Pilot - passenger side front axle replacement procedure
Now that the 100k mile required procedures of (valve lash adjustment + timing belt kit replacement) are completed, the next outstanding issue is the front axles.
The odometer is at 125k miles, currently.
Specifically, ever since around 100k miles, the car makes dry creaking and metallic binding/popping noises when making right-hand turns at a corner, or left-hand turns.
When driving straight forward, or gentle curves of roads: no binding noise.
Seems it is a common problem: that the CV joints on the front axles wear out, around 100k miles or so, and their failure mode includes the noises I am hearing.
So, will begin researching parts, tools, and procedures, to DIY replace either just the passenger-front axle (as it seems to be the only area the noise is coming from), or both front axles, if Piloteers strongly recommend to do both. Guessing I will do so during the summer, for a few wkends.

on only replacing the passenger-side CV assembly, if the other two will continue to last. Right now, I am thinking of just purchasing the passenger-side CV assembly, and "starting" the work, then when I am "there" under the car, inspect/test/see if the other two items look like they will last, or need to be replaced as well.
