Scene:  Patrick's living room; Tigers vs. Oakland A's on big screen tv

Melissa & Peggy: uh oh
Bill: can of corn
Pat: huh?
Bill: can of corn.  we always said that in softball games when it was a routine fly out.
Pat: why?
Bill: we always said that in softball.  can of corn.
Pat: but why would you call it a can of corn?
Bill: i don't know.  we'd have a few beers first.

Later...
Melissa: What's on the Oakland A's jerseys?  Kangaroos?
Bill: Elephants
Pat: Why an elephant?
Bill: They were the Kansas City A's.
Pat: Why an elephant?
Bill: (some guy) owned them.
Pat: Why an elephant?  ugh

First of all, I guess that my brother never learns.  Secondly, it's probably a good thing that my dad retired.  And finally, I never realized how Confederate the last names Rebb and Lee sound together.  But there's not a Johnny Rebb nor a Robert E. Lee in the family.
