Merhaba :D
Nasıl sın? Iyiyim.
Well, yesterday evening we all went to Barış's place and had a Turkish night.
The Turkish Aiesecers' had provided traditional Turkish food and we drank Raki, a Turkish beverage a little similar to Ouzo. Here some pictures:
1) Sarma (rice rolled inside a leaf of vine)
2) Pilaki (white bean salad with onions and tomatoes)
3) Közartma (cold fries with garlic tomato sauce) and Kabak (pumpkin and aubergine - eggplant for those American among you - ) and Kırmızı biber (red pepper or paprica) and biber (normal green paprica)
4) Pilav (rice) and Çiğ Köfte (spicey raw meat)
5) Rus Salatası (Russian salad - yoghurt with mostly mayonnaise and peas, carrots, beans, potatoes)
6) Börek (flaky pastry filed with a special flocky white cheese - cow milk - , spinach and parsely)
but it can also be filled differently
Everything was very delicious and we also had Raki with it.
Some of our Turkish hosts:
Here you can see Maiko, Barış and York :D
me and my most wonderful host Cansen:
These are photos from before:
here I was watching Turkey-Ivory Coast and Turkey was still winning. Unfortunately the match and even with 1:1.
Nalan is always cooking really nice things and doing Turkish specialties, here some of here cooking:
another form of Börek
and here is Nalan with part of our breakfast: Gözleme (also Börek, but because of the shape it has a special name - it's also flaky pastry filled with the special white cheese and parsely)
When I got back from the Turkish night I got this dessert which the neighbour's had made
Kemalpaşa Tatlısı (fried dough with sorbet and cream)
Well, that's enough photos for today :D
Today we got some information about our traineeship and the schools. Next week it will start^^
I'm so excited!
Oh, for lunch we went to a place called 'Coco Loco'. They have pizzas and noodles and so on. But the Turkish are very weird. They put ketchup and mayonnaise on their pizza !!! and their pasta!!! WHY??? There already is tomato sauce on your pizza!!! and sauce with your pasta!!! WHY WOULD YOU ADD MAYONNAISE????
Well, I'll never understand...
So much for today, wish you all the best!
Anna
Ups, totally forgot, yesterday we also had Lahmacun at a restaurant: (it's like pizza dough but you put meet on it)
looks like above when you get it along with a salad plate, but you eat it rolled up and filled with the salad.
Most people also add hot spice and powdered caraway.
