RIP Niblet 1992-2010
Seventeen years is a good run. The decline was longer than I would have liked, but she still had the will to live even through the kidney disease and the urinary tract infections. The last few days she took a sharp downhill turn. This morning she couldn't stand and wouldn't eat, and we knew it was time. southplains is crushed, of course, and I'm taking it a little harder than I thought as well. Still, she had a very good and very long life, which is more than most strays that get dumped off in parking lots at Christmas get to say. She'll be sorely missed.
