The Smarter She Tries to Sound, the More the Inner Valley Girl Pops Out

John McCain and Shakespeare fill in as guest columnists as MoDo continues to vacation on the moon.

This could just be my liberal democratic self speaking, but I was under the impression that we were in an economic crisis, and Obama and the Democrats had long promised a program of reinvestment in domestic programs. It seems, however, that MoDo has joined in with John McCain in defining earmarks as "anything the Democrats want to spend money on." Disregarding MoDo-who continues to follow her usual sniping template-McCain, embarrassingly, continues to go for laughs, relying on reductio ad absurdum to make his points. Twitter is such a perfect tool for the Republicans. Transmittal of talking points without feeling obligated to spend too much time exploring the why of anything. Funding scientists to develop new technologies and explore methods of improving our lives? How ridiculous! Investing in social programs to give troubled Americans a hand up? How bizarre!

I have yet to see any better ideas from MoDo or the other side. Nope, it's still all about fighting to reach the top of the heap. Never mind that the rest of the world is burning to a crisp.
