It's been snowing out all day, and I feel warm and fuzzy and Christmassy. I just want to say that Christmas is the shit.

Saturday, my Glenn Gould box set arrived. It is freaking amazing. It's not perfect. It doesn't include any live albums, there's only 1 bonus disc of stuff that didn't make it onto albums [so there's a lot of stuff not in the box that has been included on previous CD releases], but I knew all that from the start and certainly what's there is more ( Read more... )

Last Saturday (a week ago), we went to Federation Forest (a little patch of State Park a bit north of Rainier with about 12 miles of trails). It was far too muddy for pleasant walking, but there were all sorts of fun surprises to make up for it. Pictures!

For the first time this year, it's warm enough outside that it feels nice to get in the shade. I think it's a perfect day to get something such as a cheeseburger sandwich and eat it outside. But I don't think you can actually do that in Seattle ( Read more... )

Yesterday we went to Deception Pass State Park. [pictures] It was all manner of scenic. There was this meadow at the summit of what Wisconsin folk would call a mountain (here in Worshington it's just a "rock," I think), and it was really warm and sunny (strange for this time of year), so we hung out up there for a while and it was very nice ( Read more... )
