Having finished Cryptonomicon, I went to the used bookshelf by the International Room, down a hall and to the right from Ops Excellence.  It's a no-fooling bookcase they keep there just for people to deposit their unwanted literature for other people to use.  I picked up Timeline by Michael Crichton.  I'm about twenty pages in.
