Our router has a memory leak. Something to do with the firmware, maybe. This is the sum total of my understanding of the situation. If it's on too long, we lose enough memory that our internet slows to a crawl. Until Tyler can figure out how to fix it, he came up with a stopgap solution, which was to set the router to reset itself every two hours (about half past every even-numbered hour, Central Time--watch me log off instant messenger!). It should happen again any minute now.
There we go.
I'm used to it at this point; I can always get back on within thirty seconds, so it's not a big deal. Sterling, on the otherhand, is good and irritated. It means he can't stay in a World of Warcraft instance for more than two hours, which gives him the shakes, I'm sure. The upshot to having a roommate who is addicted to an MMORPG is that you never have to go talk to the guy who manages your network if it goes dead for too long--he's guaranteed to be on on his way to do it for you, trying to forestall his withdrawal symptoms.
