My neighbour has done what I could not: organise someone to take down the jasmine vine that sat over the ruined fence that separated our two properties. They also took a fair chunk of the fence with them and now there is an open space between us, and I'm finding it quite liberating. Given that her backyard is a damn site bigger than mine I can't imagine the same feeling of liberation arises in her. It cost $250 as it took 2.5 hours to remove. Money well spent. (I wish that was my hourly rate.)
I had dinner with some old uni friends last night, and I had an exceptionally good time. I have no idea what made it so, but it just was. Sandra is three months into a pregnancy, and as Belinda has had three(!) there was muchos with the baby talk. However, I didn't feel at all left out, which is surprising given in so many cases I'm the fifth wheel as I'm generally girlfriendless. I guess that it's all about perspective.
Beej and I completed stage 1 of our coffin. It's lookin' mighty fine and our skillz should give anyone trying to mess with us pause. There's still five weekends between now and when it has to be lined and painted, and that should only take an afternoon. That's what I call planning ahead.
