ON BLOGGING - ONE YEAR ON

In another Google search I found the following useless piece of information about the state of blogging in 2007:

“Technorati currently states it is tracking over 112.8 million blogs, a number which obviously does not include all the 72.82 million Chinese blogs as counted by The China Internet Network Information Center. Blog statistics often concern the English language blogosphere but we should not forget about the millions of other blogs that are not always included in estimations.”

This is really mind-blowing and I’m wondering where all this information is stored and I’m sure Big Brother is watching all of us.

I wonder how many bloggers and participants on social networking sites or in chat-rooms is really being honest about themselves? I have never posted a personal photograph on “Dreams, Schemes and Themes”, my bookcrossing site or on any other forum I participate in. It’s me at the top of this post and I’m sure you had a very different picture in your head as I have of my Live Journal and Bookcrossing friends. It’s really nice to meet you face to face.  As ♥ Girl often say, Baggins my Bulldog and I are definitely related. We’re both stubborn and not a pretty picture, but I promise you, the bark is worse than the bite!

Marko167 over at bookcrossing has the following quote on his bookcrossing front-page:

"If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this is useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all who claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think everything you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told you should want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned... Tyler"

This is from the “Fight Club” move-script I think.

Makes you think doesn’t it?

Happy blogging.
