Alright as in... I won. She's not leaving me, and I'm not going to have to spend the next however many years I last by myself and probably wishing the people trying to find us get lucky in my case and kill me. I wasn't looking forward to that idea.
I don't think anybody in my place would be.
"Sure, what is it?" I could feel myself starting to smile already. It's going to be okay if we stick together. I know how sappy that sounds, but I think it's true. If we work together this well, from a tactical standpoint? Reducing the number is leaving yourself open to get killed.
And from every other stand point... Yeah. Like I said, I'd probably be wishing for them to come. And I'd get sloppy. I'm prone to it when I'm in that kind of place, I've never been able to completely fix it.
I'd be dead without her, end of story.
"This is really the dumbest thing that you've ever talked me into. Hands down."
...
"I can live with that." I grinned when she moved into my lap, moving my arms right around her and kissing back.
Her constantly telling me that I'm an idiot for her choosing to stay every time something goes wrong for the rest of our lives? It'll probably get old eventually, in fact... It definitely will, but with the alternative, it's definitely better this way.
'Cause this way, I get to do this. This is a lot freakin' better than what the other way would have been like.
Besides, I'm not sure how the hell I'd work out a new look anyway. Not one I'd be willing to live with for the rest of my life, at least. I have how I look now, damn it, and it's served me well over the years. I'm not about to get rid of i--
Oh, this is fun.
More of this from here on out. No more of the bad crap that we did before, just this.
"... You're not going to hit me again, are you?" I smirked, and went for another kiss anyway.
Worse comes to worse, we've already established I can take a punch.
Alright as in... Alright?
"I just need you to know something."
