Still recovering from my weekend with Jake, which was really good. I got the train at 8:30pm on Friday night and didn’t get to Jake’s till 1am. We did the catch up thing because Jake had only just got home from work and the normal things that boyfriends do when they haven’t seen each other for 2 weeks got done and we finally got to bed about 3:30am. When I got up in the morning I couldn’t even find Jake, the whole house was empty! When he finally surfaced it turns out he had gone to sleep in his parents’ bed when they got up. We spent the day together and Jake was kinda crabby and snappy with me the whole day and it was really upsetting me. He was telling me off for random things like touching his butt as I passed him or making a joke and he was like it the whole day. In the end it all blew up when we were on our way out to see one of Jake’s best friends, Craig Maddox (
www.craigmaddox.com) who is a singer/song writer playing. We were in a shop browsing waiting for the venue to open and I made a joke about Jake doing something with one of his ex’s (something he has done to me on more than one occasion I might add!) and he got shitty with me. I got fed up with the double standard and stormed off. When he came and found me I was a little horrible to him but it forced the situation so in the end we talked about what was going on and got it all off our respective chests. Me and Jake think that this is one of our strengths as a couple. We don’t let things build up. We talk to each other about what’s bugging us and work out a solution. I love Jake and sometimes it takes a lot of work to make the relationship special but we’re not doing too badly at it.
This was a case in point. When we had finished sorting everything out we went to meet everyone else and they didn’t realise that 5 minutes before we were getting upset with each other. And we had a great night with everyone at the concert and then we went home and snuggled up on the sofa till we started getting tired, then Jake came and got into bed with me for a couple of hours (we’re still in separate beds under Jake’s parents’ roof which is cool - gotta be respectful no matter how frustrating it is for both of us…) and we made up properly then!
Next morning I got up before Jake and went and woke him where he was asleep on the sofa. We got up and dressed and helped pack Kay’s stuff for Uni into the van and waved Kay (Jake’s sister), and their parents, Sarah and Ian off on the trip to Leeds where Kay is at Uni. At this point we had the house to ourselves and we settled into a lazy Sunday. Jake went off and did some homework and I watched TV till he was done. When he was finished we turned into the ultimate gay couple. Picture the scene!! Me on the sofa, Jake snuggled up to me on one side, and Molly, the family dog on the other side playing with me, we were watching “Swan Lake” the ballet and when we finished doing that we went to bake a cake together in the kitchen. The only thing missing was a bit of Judy Garland playing in the background! After that we took Molly for a walk and we watched a film where I did rude things to him on the sofa. I’m not gonna go into details but I will say I was teasing and in the end Jake pretty much begged me to finish…..hehehehehe. About 8pm I had t start thinking about getting my stuff together to start heading home. I got the train back and arrived home at 2am with work starting at 9:15am! I was soooo tired all day yesterday! But all in all despite our little spat I really enjoyed seeing Jake and its getting harder and harder leaving him everytime. I love him soooo much!
In other news I have been thinking a lot about my life and I have decided that apart from a little bit broke I am really really happy in Exeter. I have a good group of friends and I am at home in the small gay community that lives in the city. I have Jamie, the hairdresser (now student!), and Jamie (just back from Spain), Alex - my ex, Charlie - my old fuck buddy, Wayne and Leo - the most amazingly good looking and ‘right’ couple I have met, Michelle - my lesbian housemate and her girlfriend Sam, and Jo - my faghag housemate who may or may not have bi tendencies! And on top of all that I have friends in the shape of Amy, Rob, Emma, Sammi, John, Kara and Jina. I need to try and start making some more money cos money is really tight but I couldn’t be happier with my life in all other areas. I have a boyfriend I love, I have friends who are amazing and my job isn’t exactly horrible. All in all I am very lucky.
