Ilulissat Youth Hostel
Well, I said I wasn’t gunna post today but I have 12 more minutes of internet to spend before we leave here, so I might as well use them.
I couldn’t sleep last night because I wasn’t tired, so Dad and I watched Family guy until like 10:30 and I finally got to sleep maybe at 11:00. I slept until like 9:30 but Dad apparently got up at 3:30 to take a walk.
Checkout time was at 10:00 so we had to get up and pack and leave our stuff under the stairs and hope no one would steal it. We went to the store and got some oven pizzas and made them for lunch, then went to the Knude Rosmussen museum. He was the first guy to ever dogsled all the way across Greenland. Dad’s still there watching a movie that guy directed, filmed in Kulusuk. I’d do it but it’s 50 minutes long and I don’t feel like sitting there, I’d fall asleep. I’ll get it online sometime.
We have a slight change of plans. We were going to get into Nuuk around 9:00 and go to the youth hostel we stayed at last time, but the flight is only like ten hours later so it’s kind of a waste of money. We figure it’s always light out so we can just hang around the city and spend the money we would have spent at the hostel on barhopping haha. Most bars are open until like 3:00 and some probably all night. We’re also probly gunna go see a few movies at the theater. We’ll probably leave our stuff in the hostel because I accidentally forgot to return my key so we can just leave it there. Realistically if we wanted to we could spend the night there and no one would notice. If I can convince Dad to be immoral enough to do that, we just might. We have to go out of our way to pay for the other two nights because the guys never showed up. There’s no front desk or anything. Dad will probably have to wire them the money when we got back to the States.
So yeah, that should be fun. Tomorrow morning we’ll be flying into Narsarsuaq, which is one of the southernmost cities on the island so it will probably be very warm. Narsaq will be ever warmer when we’re there two days later.
In about an hour I’m meeting Dad at some Chinese restaurant and then we’re coming back to get our stuff, getting a cab to the airport, and catching our flight at 5:10. w00t! Looks like we’re in for a long night.
Yay, I'll be home Sunday! I miss you all!
Later,
