i dunno. As long as the tat isn't off the wall, there is no reason to critique it besides artistic problems (filling, shading et al). It obviously means enough to those guys to get that done. I mean, shit, i've got the columbian coffee logo on my leg, am i assinine and pathetic? I don't tend to think so.

I've been a fan of their site for years myself. And, I've got tattoos myself, but the idea of getting an MTV or Intel logo tattoo is, to me, on the same level of genius as wearing a t-shirt that reads: "I'm with stupid" and an arrow pointing to the person next to you.
I can see getting a logo as a tattoo, but the trademark symbol is kinda goofy to include with it. Is there a law stating the TM has to be tattoo'd with the logo if you use it? I would have to draw the line and say forget it, lol
...would I have to include nutrition information if I want to use the Trix Rabbit?
Silly Rabbit!mr_steveoDecember 11 2002, 15:51:58 UTC
Likely, only if you have an depiction of the box front tattooed, but not if it's just the rabbit. You could have him doing cool stuff, like riding a skateboard, or a mountain bike, or playing a guitar or...the list could really go on, couldn't it?

if i remember correctly, you can use any part of a trademark as long as there is no profit made from it. Besides, if they sue you, they'd have to pay the cost of (possibly not working) laser surgery.
Actually, I recall seeing photo documentation of one of those, but forget exactly which one it was. Jason Jessee (Ex pro skater) has a Santa Cruz dot logo tattooed on his ankle, but that's cool cos it has to do with skateboarding, and everyone knows that skateboarding and skateboarders, and ex-skateboarders are supreme beings!
you know some could say its right up there with band tattoos...what if you get older and don't like the band, what if the band breaks up? wheat if they start to suck? those are all valid statements to some. i have a band tattoo, and i'm not ashamed of it at all. Its a simple drawing off one of INXS' 7" vinyl jackets, and i am proud to still have it. Afterall, it got me a guitar pick from the guitar player (Tim), and Michael Hutchence told me he loved me (oh yeah, thats right, uh-huh). I wouldn't change it for the world, i fell in love with the band at 12, thanks to them and a few other bands i didn't kill myself at 14,and now, 27 i still listen to them constantly. People kid me about it, some people think it says WAR or soemthing else, i just explain it to them....
Maybe these people feel the same way, you don't know the story behind the tattoo, the reasoning....
but i have to agree about flash work. people need to be original, shit, find something in a magazine or online at least, something not 100,000 other people have on their
Legend has it, that if you get the rocket from the crypt logo as a tattoo, you get in free to any gig of theirs. I've got a NMA-related tattoo by the way.

like i said, as long as it's not flash art, i won't comment negatively on it. i'm weird though.
ps. BME is a great site. I did a semester long project on bodmod in high school and BME was a great source. i still check it at least twice a week.
