Groth Typology 2

'There is a continuum of traits used by psychologists, feminist theorists of a Quinean bent, and Human Resources professionals to classify the habitual rapist as one of four different types. Before exploring in detail the nature of each of these perceived types, it will be useful to establish what makes one a habitual rapist.

'To begin with, merely having raped a number of women on multiple occasions is not enough for your rapes to be considered habitual. You might be called a repeat rapist, a threat to the integrity of society, a fucking scumbag, or a manly stud-pony depending on your cultural context, but it is important to recognize from the start that "habitual rapist" is a technical term with a specific definition.

'As a technical term, it most correctly is used as a reference to an ontologically uninstantiated rapist, let's call him Leroy, who is an idealization of the set of traits the technical minded have arbitrarily assigned to him. That is to say, the true habitual rapist is a white man of about 5 feet 9 inches in height, with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs about 190 lbs. and is approximately 33.624351 years of age.

'Leroy has raped at least 4 women since his eighteenth birthday and he raped other women prior to his majority and he himself was raped by an older male relative at an early age. Leroy is a misogynist, a liar, has attention deficit disorder, a cleft palate, a severe lateral lisp, a smaller than average uncircumcised penis, and a 1987 IROC Z, painted black and adorned with a lynyrd skynyrd bumper sticked. Most importantly, Leroy is ontologically uninstantiated and therefore invisible and capable of being anywhere at any time. This fact makes him extremely dangerous.

'To call anyone else a habitual rapist is to say that they resemble Leroy in some way pertinent to Leroy's history of sexual assault. The nature of this resemblance takes on one of four different primary categories, although almost any given individual will probably have traits associated with more than one category. Individuals with a high correspondence to multiple categories are said to be "more like Leroy" than others. This is also a technical term, and likeness to leroy, while a rich field of investigation consisting of a large body of published literature within the discipline of sociology, is not particularly germane to our discussion here..."
