so about the bible...dabigman213November 13 2005, 06:26:40 UTC
One big problem with the bible that petey may have touched on, but i don't know since this was really long to read, the entire bible was and is written by dead white guys... see the big problem with it?
these dead white guys not only believed in control of women, as shown with marraige and all this other crap they can now complain about, and they had their own agendas to what god wants (instead of writing the literal they summerize, poorly at that).
Also the biggest problems with the people who wrote this were : A) they are human and prone to all the mistakes, misjudgements, etc. B) they are dead and gone from an era that was completely different from us, the down side being they cannot correct our mistakes in interpretation or adjust said bible to more directly apply to what god would want of us to this date.
finally i also believe that, if there is a god, "it" puts problems such as racial issues and for that matter homosexuality, womens rights, etc. in order to challenge us to "its" beliefs. thus when we can't get by one of these issues the apocalypse will come and destroy us and god or what ever will recreate the world with the ability to pass this problem.
all in all i've wasted your time and ability to understand this bs. considering i've pulled this out of my ass so recently i believe i will be rejected in a few days.

Ok, so you probably got my other replies that I deleted in your mail, and you can laugh at them if you want. The bible was written by people who were not only Jewish, but most of them had very dark skin. But getting back to the original debate about homosexuality/gay marriage, I don't need the bible to know that it is right in most christian religions. In any christian religion you recognize that God created every person in his own image. If some one is gay, doesn't that kind of mean that there is a homosexual side to God? Or to steal a line from the movie saved "If God wanted us to be the same, why did He make us all so different?" Everyone is an individual, and the fact that some people prefer the same sex should simply show that God is wonderful. He created life, He created sexuality. Whatever, maybe I'm just smoking crack again.

The only christian religion that gay marriage wouldn't fit into would be Calvinism, because the fact that they live in sin shows that they were pre-destined to go to hell. So, if you hate gays and think they should go to hell join the Reformed Church of John Calvin. Fun times.

...yeah so technically they weren't "white", but the general message is that the bible was written in terms for that time and though it has very good moral values within it, the bible is not meant for this day and age.
....also i said nothing about their religion.... "um...they were acutally jewish" i said they were white....
