[AUDIO / ACTION FOR PEOPLE OUT AND ABOUT IN THE CIRCUS]

Oh! well-- I might suggest that if any of you are wearing anything, ah, flammable, you might want to. Sit a little further back. Just in case, I mean, one never knows...

All right, and as you see, there's nothing in the hat now, nor under it... But, let me just cover it with my mystical ( Read more... )

Er-- well, most of them go a little better in person...

Hold on...

[Aziraphale picks up a battered top-hat, the home until recently of a rather confused dove, and tilts it forward to show that it is once again empty.]

Ffff, sudden action for the fail phale. horrible_protag May 25 2009, 19:32:10 UTC
As it so happens, he was right around the corner from there, trying to do- helping. For the less fortunate, and things like that. For Penny. So by the time he was watching this unfold on the video, he almost bumped into him in person.

Except he didn't because a good hero is always aware of his surroundings, and he totally intended on having it unfold like this, because he's amazing. "Ah, hello again! Now I am able to see this trick in person."

"Oh!"

Well, that made things simpler-- not having to keep an eye on the camera positioning and such. Phale turned and offered the hat with a flourish, showing again that there was nothing inside of it. A wave of his hand beneath it showed there was no trickery involved there, either.

"And-- er, abra-cadabra and all..."

Reaching into the hat, the angel pulled out a rather squashed and green-looking rabbit.

Caught on his hind foot, voila-- the black felt circle that had previously concealed the poor beastie from view. Phale, of course, looked mildly mortified.

"I'm sure the hard work will pay off." You know. Probably. But what sort of hero would he be if he didn't say that?

"You'd think it would just be a matter of time."

Aziraphale has been doing magic for a long time. A very long time. An incomprehensibly long, to most practitioners of the sequinned arts, time.

on the bright side, it is quite difficult to quash an angel's hopes.
