as reported by Bristol Post:
A NEW piece by street artist Banksy has appeared in Bristol.
The painting, which is on the side of a building at the Albion Dockyard in Hanover Place, has appeared on
the mysterious street artist's website.
It is based on Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer's masterwork Girl with a Pearl Earring - with Banksy calling it The Girl with the Pierced Eardrum*, due to an alarm box he has painted around.
The artist has also made a tongue in cheek reference to the burger van opposite, with the caption "Gallery cafe open Monday to Sunday 8am to 2pm".

Кстати, название работы переводится не как «Девушка с проколотым ухом», а как «Девушка с пробитой барабанной перепонкой». Это если дословно.
