Fortunately, this means Cannonball Run 4 will be the most amusing of the entire series. Also, this means I'm waiting for 28 Years Later to come out so I can write 28 Centuries Later and put it on a space station.
I would say there's hope for writing Diablo 3, but it's apparently already written and slated to come out...and, yes, I'm still making girly squealing noises about this fact.

After all, who needs Runes when you can get Skill Chips to plug into your Neural Net Skillsoft Slots when you go out to mow down mutant abberations with the Colt 2512 14mm Smartgun?
Who needs mana and magic when you can get energon to power your externalized Nano-Incinerators and breathe fire across the pustulent faces of your cyberpsycho enemies?
Red health potions? Cliche. Make mine Programmed Reconstructor-Virus Infused Blood-Hypos, so I feel well enough to go back out and hack more down with my harvested-crystal Kendachi Mono-Naginata.
Oh, god, I wish R.Talsorian would hurry up and make a fucking video game, already.
And I can trust you to be one of like three people I know to get all those jokes. But I don't make Shadowrun rips, except to rip on how inferior it is to Cyberpunk.
...but mostly I'm just not sure where you're seeing it.
Sketchy news on the Diablo 3 front. I'm hearing it's mostly meant to be done as a multiplayer thing...which saddens me. The first screenshots look good, but not perfect...there has been talk of removing Light Radius and making the character designs a little wilder, a little more cartoony and the armor a little more over the top. I'm pretty sure that saddens me, too.
Yeah, from what I was seeing of the screenshots, it's starting to look more like WoW than Diablo. Do you think Blizzard may be bowing before the possibility of a richer Almight Dollar idol in the form of another MMORPG in the form of Diablo 3? This is actually falling apart the same way Warcraft did. The first was fun, made great strides in it's area. The second comes, refines the system, adds more replay value, more multi-player functions and the game becomes a classic. Then the third installment. The plot becomes a Looney Tunes satire of the creator's original idea...the idea of a playable character who wants nothing more than to drink the blood of its enemy and offers their souls to its demonic master is taken away.
I didn't. Not even close. Distracted by work, I'm afraid. And now I have no idea what I was trying to say, but I think it was something along the lines of, "Warcraft was always a little silly and has only gotten moreso. Diablo was always serious, and will hopefully retain that. There is the possibility, however slim, that Blizzard won't fuck this up.
The Witch Doctor looks hokey as fuck, though. I just want to get that out there.
