I don't especially trust any of the democrats either. I like Mike Gravel but he doesn't stand a chance. I think I might actually vote in the Republican primary for Ron Paul.

A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for dissolution of the state. I hope you enjoy anarchy.

Well, you make a pretty convincing and detailed argument there.

Allow me to expound. Scott, if you vote for Ron Paul, I may be forced to write you out of my will.

I still say people need to read "Interface" co-written by Neal Stephenson (yes, THAT Neal Stephenson, who wrote Cryptonomicon and The Diamond Age, among other seminal cybrepunk and awesome things) and J. Frederick George. It details how technology and the media can (and have now) taken over politics to the point that it's not about who the politicians really are, it's who they have working for them to fool the public the best. Yes, it pulls the conspiracy card, but if you look hard enough, you can see how a lot of the techniques described in the book are actually used today ( ... )

Wasn't that fact already exposed in the last 2 elections?

You would be surprised (or maybe not) by the number of people who do not understand media manipulation and how simpleminded humans are ( ... )

I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to participate in the Big Kids discussion until you can scroll upwards a half screen to find out how to spell Iowa.

I am pleased as punch about this, because Obama is my favorite, but Edwards is my second favorite. I'd be perfectly happy with either one of them winning the Presidency. I like Obama's positions on the issues, and I'm not as familiar with Edwards, but I certainly like him much more than Hilary, whose "experience" I have been far from impressed with.

I hope that Huckabee continues to steamroll through on the Republican side. Mostly because I think he's too kooky to have a real shot at the White House.

I was, in fact, talking with a fairly staunch conservative just recently who, for reasons of national security will remain nameless, described Huckabee like he should be scribbling on the walls in crayon and Obama as, "Yeah...I could actually be okay if Obama got elected."

I have, thus, extrapolated from this that Huckabee winning has thrust this country into Bizarro World. "Me conservative are thing Obama am make good president or is happy for him winnings primary. Huckabee bad."

Research Edwards. He's a bag of fun. Between Ed and Bama, I'd say Edwards is the better Civil Servant, but Obama is the better Politician...if that makes any sense to anybody but me.

It makes perfect sense, but you also have to account for Edwards having time to build a track record and knowing that as a politician he should save his energy and stick to his achievements rather than trying to convince the world of what he will do.

Also, Edwards may be The Smiler. This is why I want Huckabee to win and go for 2 terms. Then we can have a real Beast and then Edwards will run again and again and finally win the White House just in time to have a melt-down. It will be great and Warren will lose the bet.
