MY FAVORITE TRACKS of 2007So... I'm not sure anybody follows my journal anymore because I mostly just talk about music (and, sadly, this entry is not an exception to this rule). I'm indulgent, I know, sorry. I do actually have a big non-music entry in the works, and after I post it I'd like to continue posting as regularly as I used to. However, ( Read more... )

I just read an entry by a guy who ranked his top 100 albums of 2007; so this was a cakewalk. Interesting list; but Weird Fishes? Really? Again, songs mean so many different things to different people.

But no cracked out Amy Winehouse? The National? I would like to see your top 25 albums or something.

Wait...what? Battles at 23? I thought you found Mirrored to be pretentious and inaccessible? - Dave

also, keep in mind that i probably only heard about 50 albums this year... so #23 is not as fantastic as it sounds

House of cards man, house of cards. So so good. and for MIA, I'd have gone with Paper Planes. And with.... But then, this is your top 25. I really should post my top 25. Eh.

This is the link to the dude who did the 100 album review. I don't know who he is though, I just followed the note cuz one of my friends was tagged in it (DAMN YOU FACEBOOK FEED)

hmm, this 100 album list doesn't really mean too much... he doesn't even like the albums toward the bottom of the list that much. i could do a 100 album list, but then linkin park and maroon 5 and fall out boy and timbaland would end up on it, and that's not really a reflection of what i liked, haha.

also, "house of cards"? why does everybody love that one so much? it's my least favorite on the album. the songs in competition w/ "weird fishes/arpeggi" were actually "faust arp", "nude" and "videotape", my other favorites.

as per "paper planes" --- i like it a lot, but it feels a little obvious to me (the chord progressions and hooks, i mean). i like the whole shooting sample thing, but "bamboo banga" (& "bird flu" & "boyz" & "20 dollar") brim with a lot more creativity and ingenuity, i think.

Hey you were saying you wanted bootleg cds? of what exactly? I may be heading to Thailand soon to get them. You need to be a *little* more specific cuz they literally have everything.

I really really like house of cards. First song that jumped out. And Reckoner too.

And I still think Paper Planes is the standout song of that album. I remember first hearing it on the radio and going WTF?

fair enough (and as per the bootleg cd's? i just want something that is so obviously over-the-top bootleg it's hilarious... preferably of something that i listen to, or would ironically listen to)

See ya soon (tell Amy!)
