I'm watching ROTK while all my friends are at prom!

Robert Bly's Portrait of Titus with a Red hat.

Beneath his wizened visage, Bly hides his emotions.
They come out in the letters, to confuse and threaten.
They come out in the ink, in order to inspire.

It’s enough to let the words fall into place.
Why should the poet explain his meaning?
We spend too much time classifying life.

Writing dictionaries leads only to tedium.
Too much color causes the poet to stray.
Too much fire will bring a quick end.

The writer can’t know what his words will mean.
We all see differences imbedded in the text.
We all love a poem, a book, a song.

The left hand of time closes the door on us all.
The right merely loses sight of its goal.
How can we prevent the fall?

We all love, and rush ahead of life,
Trying to devour our death,
Before it can catch us.

I only makes a little bit more sense if you read the original poem.
