wise words shoved in to little places

ONe always finds words of wisdom or truth tucked into little dialogues, thoughts, stories etc. Here is an example of that i think. They aren't so much words of wisdom as just a nicely put fact.
It's from an excerpt from a book review i was reading in the New York Times.
The book is a sequel to "Jim the Boy" and is titled "The Blue Star".

I am resisting the urge to describe it to you, the reader, and so, to help resist, i will move on.

(i like narrating my action btw)

this is jim talking to a girl that he is driving home.

"You get bad feelings about a lot of things," Jim tells her.
"There's a lot in the world to feel bad about," she answers.
"I guess i never thought that way," Jim says; "I think there's a lot in the world to feel good about."
But Chrissie (the girl) makes her point.
