Thinking man vs non-thinking man

Jul 17, 2009 19:12

Two men walk down the road to an unknown location. At the same point along the trip each man is abused by a passer by.
The non-thinking man punches the abuser in the face in reply, without hesitation and then continues on his way.

The thinking man wants to punch the abuser, but knows that it will achieve nothing, and only serve to further complicate the situation.
He continues on his way, angry and frustrated, stewing on the inside as it all builds up.

The thinking man envies the non-thinking mans lack of thought and care of consequence, and wishes he too could act on impulse regardless of the repercussion
The non-thinking man envies the thinking mans lack of pending assualt charges and sore knuckles.
