It kept her from thinking about events of the weekend, including rescuing Seely, and the chick fight she'd gotten into after seeing Jarod carrying Lana out of Efferton Manor like some medieval

There was a very nervous knock on her door.

Parker wandered over to open the door, and raised an eyebrow when she saw who it was. "Well, well. The fickle fiend who abandons computers to their fate returneth. Come in."

Broots flushed red. "Hi Miss Parker. You found her?"

"All aloooooone in the Park, where any random Troll could have made off with her, or bashed her hard drive in, or she could have frozen to death, yes." Parker retrieved the computer from behind her desk. "The troll babe must have had something going on for you to forget your first love."

"A lot of um." Broots blushed some more and made a vague guester near his chest. "Thank you."

"You owe me," Parker said, holding out JC juuust out of reach. "Don't you?"

"Yes Miss Parker. Of course I do." Broots said with a resigned sigh, not mentioning any of his favors for her. "Can I have her back now?"

Parker handed her over, and then reached over to the desk, and picked up a tiny flashdrive. "You don't want to know where I got this. Most of the files are encrypted. I doubt there's anything sensitive in them, but if you can break it--" Parker cocked her head. "Free upgrade? With bells and whistles?"

Broots gave the flashdrive a long look. "You don't tell me where or how you got that. I'll name my price after I see how bad the damage is?"

Parker threw it to him underhand, smiling. "Deal."

Broots fumbled, but caught the drive. "So uh, how was your weekend?"

"Eventful." Parker rolled her eyes. "Trolls think I'm pretty. And crumble nicely when hit with a .Sig. How was being kidnapped?" Her eyes narrowed. "They didn't hurt you, did they?"

Broots didn't comment. Or grin. Really. "No, I don't think they thought I was pretty enough." He shook his head. "I was very hungry and cold though. How did you even notice I was gone?"

Parker gave him a 'bitch, please to be using brains now' look. "I found JC. Of course something happened to you. Like you'd leave her in the Park if you were in your right mind?" She snorted. "And they *better* not have... anyway. I had fun beating one of those troll dolls up. I'm glad you're okay." Yeah, she sounded like she was being strangled, but she said it.
