There was so many shows that were "must-see" for me tonight that I had to tape things left, right and centre.
I watched the first hour and a half of the TCM Marlon Brando biography, which was incredible fascinating. Some footage and photos I'd never seen before. I'm looking forward to the second half tomorrow night. I'll post more comments once I've seen the whole thing.
Under the cut are some comments on House and my Law and Order's.
HOUSE--"Family"
*I missed the first twenty minutes of the episode because I was still watching the Marlon Brando bio, so I may have missed some great lines, etc. Can anyone fill me in?
*Hector is the cutest dog ever. I loved the limp he had by the end of the episode. I was hoping House/Hector would remain together for a bit longer. lol. It reminded me of Jack Nicholson and Verdell from "As Good As It Gets."
*LOVED the scene with AC/DC playing in the background as House and Wilson step out of the elevator in slow motion, showing off House's flaming new cane. lol.
*The POTW seemed alright. At least they weren't shoved in the background like the past few episodes. Seeing that young boy dying was actually really sad.
*Foreman is leaving? Say it ain't so! I've heard some rumours that someone from the cast may be leaving and I was dreading who it would be. Alas, it is one of my favourites. I hope it doesn't actually pan out. I would hate to lose Foreman.
*Overall, it was an okay episode. Nothing incredibly fantastic about it.
LAW AND ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT--"Rocket Man"
*I taped this episode. So, tomorrow I will have plenty to say, I'm sure. I don't know how I feel about the plotline involving astronauts. I hate when the stories are sooo obviously ripped from the headlines.
LAW AND ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT--"Florida"
*Loved this episode. I know some people haven't been enjoying Olivia and her brother, Simon, but I've found the whole thing really intriguing.
*I really enjoyed the tensions with Olivia/Elliot and Olivia/Cragen. It was very unlike her and you really get a sense of how torn she is about what she should do about her brother.
*I liked the FBI agent that was introduced in this episode. I really enjoyed his scenes with Olivia. They were intense at first, until they both cooled to one another and worked to help each other out. I hope to see more of him, although I doubt that will happen.
*No Munch? No Finn? That makes me sad.
*Mariska Hargitay was really lovely this episode. I think her strongest scene was talking to Simon's mom, who had Alzheimer's. Just seeing her reaction and knowing that her rapist father was always keeping track of her was great acting on her part.
*I don't know how I feel about Simon not actually being a rapist. On the one hand, I'm glad because it will be nice for Olivia to have family and feel closeness to him without worrying about him attacking a woman. But, on the other hand, I think it took the easy way out in having made him innocent. I mean, it would have been controversial for Olivia to want to help him even if he was a rapist, but it would have been an interesting challenge to the show.
