I'm very happy to have my Tuesday t.v. back. I missed having new episodes of House and SVU to watch. I'd love to hear everyone's feedback on the premieres. I'll put my comments under the cut because they contain spoilers.
*The episode opens with a crazy explosion. I was already hooked.
Definitely a cool beginning. Especially 'cause they have you thinking that she really is hallucinating, but no, all that shaking of the building was for real.
*House and the janitor, "Dr. Buffer", equals excellence. lol.
That ended up being a lot funnier than I thought it would be from the previews. =D
It's moments like these (hell, it's full episodes like these) that was sorely lacking in S3.
Oh, I totally agree. If the rest of this season can have the lighthearted moments like this episode had, that'd be awesome.
*I thought the POTW was really interesting. I really liked the surprise turnaround at the very end when it turns out they had the wrong patient all along. It was really sad, yet it made the episode feel like excellence of S1.
I totally agree with this, too. I liked that it wasn't so much that they had solved a medical mystery but rather that they just had the wrong patient. So simple. It was a nice twist.
*Overall: interesting POTW and, even better, excellent House scenes with Cuddy and Wilson. More episodes like this one would definately make up for the mediocrity of S3.
I know. It's funny because I remember thinking, "Oh, ANOTHER hallucination scenario?" and then the building blew up. lol. I was like, "Okay...nevermind!"
I hadn't seen any Dr. Buffer previews so I didn't know that was going to happen. I thought it worked out really well.
I know the writers already know this but I hope that, this season, they REALLY understand that, no matter how many people support House/Cuddy or House/Cameron or whatever, almost 100% of the show's viewers love House/Wilson moments and they should really, really keep that up this year.
I remember reading about the real medical case that inspired the one in the show. It's so sad, yet totally believable. And, like you said, I liked that it wasn't so much a solved case as a switched identity.
