"NO TOUCHING!"

I finished the first season of Arrested Development a couple of days ago (I'm already two episodes into the second season). Let me just say that I am madly in love with this show. I laugh until I hurt. I just wanted to make some comments on the first season, but I'll put them behind the cut because they may contain spoilers.

All you fans on my LJ, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what I said. :) Plus, who are your favourite characters/episodes/quotes?

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT: SEASON ONE

*I love the narration by Ron Howard. He has the perfect voice to bring the eccentric Bluth family to life. I think it really adds a lot to the hilarity of many of the scenes.

*They have great guest stars. They don't have the usual suspects or really big names.
-Henry Winkler is awesome as the Bluth family lawyer, Barry Zuckerkorn. My favourite line of his was: "I've been itching like crazy. I think something laid eggs on me."
-Liza Minelli is crazy. I love Lucille Austero (aka Lucille Two). Her brief love affair with Buster was great.
-Judy Greer is a mental case as George Sr. secretary and mistress, Kitty.
-And I really loved the episodes with Julia Louis-Dreyfuss as the "blind" lawyer, Maggie Lizer.

*I love the fast pace of the show. You barely have time to get a hold of yourself after a laughing fit before something else comes along. It just bombards you with hilarious lines. If you aren't listening you can miss so much cleverness.

*The cast is incredible. I LOVE everybody. It's not everyday you see a cast work so well together and all manage to be equally hilarious. So, instead of crediting everyone for being so funny, here are my six favourites:

-Jason Bateman is so friggin' adorable. He's one of my new crushes now. As straight-laced and serious Michael Bluth, he may not be the most obviously funny character, but he is so subtly hilarious. He actually adds a lot to a scene, just by a simple, confused facial reaction. I really love his relationship with his son, George-Michael. He's always trying to be a cool dad, which I find really endearing, in a funny way.

-Jeffrey Tambor is all sorts of awesome as George Bluth Sr/Uncle Oscar. Although most of his scenes take place within prison walls, his religious conversion and alliances with some of the gangsters manage to make his storyline just as hilarious as the rest of his family. How awesome are his Judaeism videos?! lol.

-I love Jessica Walter as Lucille Bluth. She's the most horrendous matriarch I've ever seen. Her love/hate relationship with her children is just too funny.

-Michael Cera is one of the cutest, most awkward teenagers I've ever seen. George-Michael is one of my favourite characters solely because of his performance. As I already mentioned, I love his relationship with his father and the secret love he harbours for his cousin, Maeby.

-Buster is probably in my top three favourite character. Tony Hale plays him as such a weird mamas-boy, how could you not love his love/hate relationship with Lucille?
Lucille: "Yes, I have a rape horn, because Michael took my mace."
Buster replies to Michael: "Yeah, like anyone would want to "R" her."

-My favourite character? Hands down, that goes to Will Arnett as Gob Bluth, the eldest son. I laugh at every single thing that comes out of his mouth.

I found these two Gob-related montages on YouTube. They are ridiculously funny.
