On Vox: BKK trip Oct 2008- Day 1
I should blog about my BKK trip before I end up with a backlog like Genetonic. Hehe.
Packing for ourselves was easy coz BKK is a destination we frequented. However travelling with Alex for the first time... his items far outweighs both of us! We brought his food along, an inflatable bath tub, 1001 pcs of diapers/bibs/hankies and toys/teethers. Can't imagine my friend who lugged along her slow cooker to cook for the baby everyday!
My inlaws nicely sent us to the airport and to bid their beloved grandson au revoir on his first trip abroad. We were all more excited than our sleepy baby!
Alex behaved rather well on the plane with the exception when he turned sleepy, he put on his usual whiny (soft) siren cry to alert us. The flight for us however was horrendous! We took Air Asia for the first time and boy was the ride crappy. The blind couldn't be pull down completely and I had to suffer mega dosage of UV rays. The infant seat belt they provided couldn't ensure safety for a wriggly baby. Well, this will be the first and last time we take a budget airline with baby!

We chose to stay at Eastin hotel this time round. Thanks to JA for answering my questions regarding this hotel!! We love this hotel. The newly furbished room rocks! Good service from the staff. We will definitely stay here again next time when we visit BKK!
We then went to MBK since it's near the hotel (less than 80B taxi ride) to have our lunch. A word of advice: Never try Fuji Japanese restaurant unless it's your only choice. Their bento set is alright, but fancy a sashimi set comes with crab sticks. Waste of tummy space. -_-

In the evening, we adjourned to Silom Village to meet Andrew's Thai friends who nicely treated us to dinner. The Thais introduced us to some traditional Thai fares which is a welcome addition than the usual tom yum krong. The food was great. I love the big river prawns they served!
