Today has been a Very Adventurous Day, mostly due to the Sad Saga of the Western Civ Project. Let me recount my Very Adventurous Day to you!
1. Almost forget my posterboard for the project. Need to turn back and get it.
2. Get to school, realize I have forgotten to print out everything that I need to put on the poster. Oops.
3. Hear from Sara that Alix (my partner) is out sick today. So now I have no partner and no typed material. This sucks.
4. Go to the library during my first period lunch and re-type all the information. Get it all done with about 10 minutes to spare. Try to go back down to the caf to throw stuff on a poster, but the nun won't let me leave because it's too close to the end of the period. Yup, I'm pretty much screwed.
5. Announcements. Desperately hoping that Mr. Burnett will understand my plight and not smite (smote?) me. Hear that school gets out at 12:00 due to the snow. Yay!
6. Go to Western Civ. Tell Mr. Burnett that Alix is not here so our poster isn't done. He says it's okay and that I should just turn it in after vacation. Whew!
7. Take a Western Civ quiz, forget a couple things about Northern Renaissance artists. Spend the rest of the class playing a "Which Historical Figure that We've Studied Am I?" game and discussing Lost.
8. Go to Geometry. Take the Easy Quiz™ and take notes on right triangles and show how the Pythagorean Theorem doesn't work on non-right triangles.
9. Go to Scripture. Watch youtube videos for the whole class period.
10. Call my mom to tell her that we're getting out early. She's already on her way, having read it on the website.
11. Go to the mall with my mom. Buy a yellow shirt (needed for one of my jazz dances) and new black school shoes (as my current pair is kind of falling apart).
12. Leave the mall. Slip and fall on my butt right in front of the entrance as I'm trying to dodge a puddle.
13. Go home. Read about Lost online with my mom. Talk about my Very Adventurous Day on the wonderful world of LJ.
I am very excited for vacation. I am also very excited for the commencement of our "gaydar" lessons tomorrow (and whatever other shenanigans might occur. All kinds of strange things happen downtown, like creepy boys with fake British accents).
