We start off with this awesome color-spread with everyone swimming under the ocean, riding mermaids and giant cyborgs and giant mermaid boobs. Oh Brook- she’s sixteen and that is highly inappropriate. Also Papugg’s on a Franky. He's on a Franky. Take a good hard look at the mothafucking Franky.

We open to a flashback of Luffy and Jinbe yelling at each other, as Jinbe insists that they can’t just rush in willy-nilly, but must approach this in a manner that Luffy as the saving hero rather than some interfering human. I take a moment to boggle at the logic while Luffy lays down the law as to why he’s just not cut out to be a hero.

As Jinbe’s persuasive skills let him bypass even the fiercest of Luffy-logic, the plan is born- Luffy will wait inside Megalos stomach and then jump out at the peoples request, while Nami and Robin steal the key and Tenryuubito-letter from Hody’s gang. The royals shall be evacuated while everyone else goes off to Ryuuguu palace and busts out the others.

Surely a plan well thought out, down to the very smallest detail. Luffy doesn’t seem very enthusiastic about the prospect of being made into the crowds darling, but agrees to go ahead with it nonetheless. But the most important part is yet to come…

… Oh Jinbe. I never knew what a dork you truly are.

We then return to the present, where Hody slowly rises as the people cheer for their pirate saviours, much to the fishmen invaders chagrin.

And Zemo just became my new favorite. Oda tries really hard to convince us that Shirahoshi was in the right for a couple of panels but nobody cares about that- it’s Hody time! Back and meantempered as ever, Hody rages at Vander Decken for being useless and himself for not seeing through Jinbe’s trap. If it wasn’t for him and those meddling humans, he would’ve TOTALLY gone to this years Reverie uncontested to kill off all the kings, facing no opposition from their bodyguards or any other crazy powerful military personnel that might be present. The Strawhats react like the name of their ship is the S.S Unimpressed and bicker amongst themselves over what half of the hundred-thousand strong army goes to what person. Luffy however, have other ideas. He demonstrates not only the fruits of his labor…

… singlehandedly haki-ing fifty thousand men, but also share his thoughts on Hody claiming HIS title.

And as Hody’s face finally catches up to what his heart and bladder already knows, Luffy inflates his fist and prepares to go to town…

Our cover image this time is king Wapol, filthy rich from his toys and living it large with his trophy wife and new kingdom. And it’s all the fault of little children. I… don’t really know what to say about that.

Zemo bolsters the remaining fifty-thousand with a bold call to action, ordering them to press on and crush the Strawhats, Jinbe and Shirahoshi- the greatest threat to their new world order. While the Strawhats ready their arms Hody decides he’s not gonna play by the rules and just shoots Shirahoshi, which isn’t hard what with her being such a huge target…

Only Jinbe has NO patience for such genre-defying ambitions and water-blocks him! It’s pretty glorious to see not only Luffy surprised HE wasn’t the one to save Shirahoshi, but also all the other fishmen invaders remember that Jinbe’s bounty exceeds four hundred billion beri and he’s kind of a big deal. But the danger is far from over- a regiment of invaders armed with cannons and rifles take aim at Shirahoshi, forcing Brook to step on to the scene!

”Party Music” makes everyone so hella mellow they just want to shoot pretty fireworks and be at one with the universe. Dosun tries to snap them out of it, but it is too late…

… THEY ARE ALREADY STRUCK. Oh yeah. Undeterred a group of invaders armed with heavy iron-shields decide to bumrush Zoro. This is a bad idea.

It’s a bad idea because Zoro has learned to summon a goddamn whirlwind of cutting blades that can CHASE THE ENEMY DOWN.

Yeah. You dun goofed, guys. Some other fishmen inflate their bubble rings to soar above the fray and attack Shirahoshi from there, while a bunch of sea urchin fishmen try to pierce Sanji through! But as they quickly close in Sanji does nothing but smoke and idly reminisce about his time on Kamabakka island, and how he would run from the armies of Okama. He would run, and run, and run...

Until he ran IN THE SKY. Robin reminds us (while casually snapping a few necks as she does) that this is the CP9’s Geppou technique, while Sanji fires up the ol’ Diable Jambe and goes to town on the bubble-attackers (the urchins just ran into each other. It was hella awkward). We then turn to Robin who…

…. I’m sorry, Robin…

…. ANYWAY a bunch of poisonous fishmen go on the offensive, because bigger legs just means a bigger target! And if there’s anyone around that’s immune to their poison, WELL they’d like to see that person come at them! Anytime now! Anytime. Aaaanyyy-

SORRY COULDN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE THUNDERING ROAR OF MY GODDAMN RHINO-BIKE. While Franky demonstrates essential Pokemon-knowledge to the fishmen, some mook steps up to challenge him with a giant spiked chain and ball. This is a bad idea. Why is it a bad idea?

BECAUSE OF BRACHIOTANK, THAT’S WHY. This page is glorious. It is absolutely beautiful and every panel is equally beautiful, so I’m just gonna include the full shebang here.

Hody however has finally HAD it with these motherfucking humans on his motherfucking island, and decides to end it all in one blow by summoning… THE KRAKEN! The Kraken which he exposits was brought down from the northern seas to be his slave and whom he’s probably treated like shit. The Kraken which befriended Luffy.

Anyone who did not see this coming is bad and should feel bad. Much like Hody's feeling right now.

SO. Not much left now but the inevitable fight against Hody and his officers. They haven’t really made an impressive showing so far, so I’m not waging any money on them being impressive NOW. But hopefully, Oda will find some way that’s not TOO farfetched to make this battle feel relevant and exciting…
