Erik wants to go to Charles the moment he's finished with the moody little boy that he's chosen as part of his team. His pride prevents this, however, and it's almost a week of intense attempts at ignoring the guilt nagging him that he asks Mystique where the manor is located.
He knows that she knows; it doesn't mean she doesn't try to tell him she doesn't, though. Eventually, after promising he isn't going to try and kill Charles, she tells him the location. Although he's sure that Azazel will eventually tire of being a physical taxi service, he's yet to say anything.
He realizes it's a stupid thing to do, getting Azazel to drop him off in Charles' bedroom, but it seems like the safest spot for him.
Hopefully he doesn't catch him in the middle of something - or someone - because if he does, he's going to be very tempted to lose his nerve about all this.
