Almost killed by a *&%#ing TEXT MESSAGE!!!
So, I'm walking home from Heart and Stroke today, and the light changes, and I begin to cross, when I notice that the car pulling up to the intersection isn't slowing down. The ice is beginning to melt, and even if he noticed the red light at this point, there's no way he'd have been able to stop. I look at the driver, and he's TEXTING!!! I made a mad dash, and fortunately for me, I didn't slip on the ice, so the damage is a glancing blow to my left foot, which fortunately could still bear weight, so it's not sprained or broken. Also fortunately, there wasn't much traffic, so he didn't cause a major accident.
The worst part (aside from almost being run down) is that I don't think he even noticed that any of this happened!!!
Now I ask you: What is so @^#@ing important that you'd risk your own life and that of other people rather than either pull over or wait the 5-10 minutes until you reach your destination???
