I very tentatively think I might want to try cosplaying America from Hetalia at Nekocon this year, if only because I think bomber jackets are the bee's knees. Also, I already have glasses and so does he. So I have a few questions to put out to you, my adoring public

2. Excellent. I'll see what I can dig up between now and November.

3. The star is pretty basic, so I'd be surprised if we can't get something reasonably close.

4. I've always heard from folks that trying to spray-dye dark hair a lighter color doesn't really work, so we might end up having to bleach me blonde and then dye it back on Sunday.

And damn this area and its lack of army surplus stores. That's definitely my cheapest way of finding an appropriate jacket, as buying one new or on eBay would likely cost me well over $100. Maybe I can get my mom on the case - there are a lot of those kinds of stores back home.

I just checked out Ebay, and yeah, they're pretty pricey. Also most bomber jackets come in dark brown with beige fur, not brown with black. :\

We could look into these places?

There used to be an army surplus store somewhere in NE Philly, we got camping supplies there when I was a kid. I'm not sure how helpful that is. Also, you might be able to get a brown/beige one and dye the fur black.

The military clothing he wears under the jacket is mostly what I wanted to hit up a surplus store for. I figure if I hit enough thrift stores, I can find a workable bomber jacket.

You should find plushie hotdogs/hamburgers. I know they exist! Or plastic ones. 8D

Oh yeah, I'm totally going to be carrying around hotdogs and hamburgers of some variety with me pretty much all day when I'm wearing this costume. X3
