I haven't found the mysterious Micheline Poirier. I'm a little frustrated, but once all my active leads didn't pan out, I didn't hold out much hope

OK, cool. That one is pretty comprehensive, and a handy size.
I <3 SAKs. My last few SAKs (since Grade 9) have been a Wenger Cyclist, a Vic Tinker, a Vic Super Tinker, another Vic Super Tinker, a Vic Rucksack, and now a Vic Hunter.
Neat. They had very few models at the Canadian Tire, and it took forever to find a little man to open the display case for me, so I didn't have as much time as I wanted to debate which model I wanted.
Mine's a camping model and sounds very, very similar to yours, although I suspect the reamer isn't one of my gadgets. Was very, very upset when I thought I'd lost it about seven years ago. talyesin gave it to me nigh on fifteen years ago now. One of the best gifts I've ever received.

For years I envied people's SAK with saws. I just hit the website to check out the model and there's a shot of it open... with the saw.
So I opened absolutely everything. And that bit in the middle I thought was solid? IS A SAW. There's no groove on the back to pull it open, which is how I dismissed it.
So now I have a saw. And I can see how truly dusty my SAK is from being carried in my purse. And... I'm also bleeding. Ahem. (I have done that exactly never. First time for everything, I guess.)
I lost my first SAK blood to the awl/needle thing on the back when I was about 12. I was holding the knife in my fist, awl sticking out between my fingers, using it to drill a hole into the top of a plastic bottle to create a water gun. It closed on me. I still have a little crescent-moon scar on my ring finger to show for it.
ARGH!

Bandaids. Bandaids are a must.
But yay for a saw!

I did that when I discovered the saw in my knife when I was seven.
