Yes. There is such a thing.
Yesterday we went to see a really fun play: "The Farnsdale Avenue Housing Estate Townswoman's Guild Society's Production of 'A Christmas Carol'" It is just a slapstick drama about a bunch of little old English ladies putting on a performance of Dicken's Christmas Carol. Of course - everything that can possibly go wrong does go wrong. And the characters are such cariticatures of officious busybodies - but still it was very funny. Go here for more info:
http://www.ensembletheatre.com/nowplaying.html Actually we've seen it before about 8 years ago. Then it reminded me of Noises Off - another very funny play about putting on a play. For this kind of humor to really work well, timing is everything and when its well done, it strikes me so funny - I can hardly make a sound when I laugh.... Julie would tell you that my nose also twitches - but it was dark in there - so I don't know if it did or not.
Anyway - it was a fun way to lighten up the holidays that have become more of a burden than I ever thought they would be.
