We postponed our New York trip to the second weekend of November.

For several reasons:

1. My nieces needed babysitting. This is kind of a big one.

2. I have a lot to prepare for class next week. It's overwhelming, but in a good way.

3. Something about finding a full-time job, still.

(I actually turned down a job yesterday. It paid really well, so it was hard to say no, but it was the right thing to do. I wouldn't have been happy there, and they wouldn't have been happy with me. Sometimes you can just tell these kinds of things. It is nice to know that at least somebody wanted to hire me though. )

4. I need to start preparing for a test. (The story of my life.) I'm getting certified to teach ServSafe (certification requirement for foodservice employees), so that I can teach it as another class at MC next semester. Possibly. But I gotta take the test in early November, and I just started studying tonight, and it's an entire textbook that I gotta read.

5. Second weekend of November is David's birthday, and it'll be a better time to go to New York, and celebrate (we both have family there and it could be a party?)

Anyway, this weekend:

Friday night - saw Rocky Horror on Stage at MC. Fun fun fun. Got free Godiva chocolates (for being a Godiva Rewards member.... which is like, a bonus card)

Earlier Today - chauffeured my nieces to dance classes, and fun at Strathmore and Dave&Busters

Tonight - visited my parents, currently studying for servsafe, cleaning the apartment later?

Tomorrow - get eye glasses, grade papers, begin preparing next week's lecture, hang out with Holly (MC colleague and fellow under-employed RD)

Schedule for next week is crazy.

Also, I've decided to have Thanksgiving at our place. My parents, my brother and his family, and David's parents (and maybe Lola's parents). My family doesn't normally do anything for Thanksgiving, but I've always loved it when we have (and every time I've spent Thanksgiving with other families has been pretty special too) - it really is a fantastic holiday, so, I'm gonna start it, officially. We might do it on Friday or Saturday though. Depending if we can get everything figured out on time. Move the bed back into the bedroom, get a real dining table, perhaps.
