Um, is anyone else a bit disappointed with the
MIFF line up this year? It's just so ... safe. These are the only films that I'm planning on going to, unless I randomly decide to go see something else.
* Mister Lonely (my crackhead boyfriend Harmony Korine's new film, I've been so excited for this one for years, so this is a definite must see for me. I just realized Anita Pallenberg is in it too! Harmony sure knows how to make a film that I'll like.)
* Scott Walker: 30th Century Man (for
shehaditcoming, I think this'll be a good one.)
* Inland Empire (DAVID LYNCH ON MY BIRTHDAY MOTHERFUCKERS!! ON A THURSDAY NIGHT! SO AFTER THREE HOURS OF FILMIC INSANITY AND RABBBITS, OFF FOR DRINKING & DANCING. SURE TO BE A GOOD NIGHT. AND DESERVING OF ALL CAPS.)
And that's it. Last year I had a whole fucking list, but I got sick and couldn't even go to the ones I bought tickets to, lame. The rest of the films look shitful boring and fucking wanker-ish and completely non-awesome and not worthy of my time or money. But these three should be highlights of the winter. Fucking Inland Empire on my birthday, man, too good.
Family time is going well, being away from work is even better.
