Chun gwong cha sit [Happy Together] (Kar Wai Wong, 1997) - 7.5/10
Kumonosu jô [Throne of Blood] (Akira Kurosawa, 1957) - 9/10
The Crying Game (Neil Jordan, 1992) - 8/10
Tôkyô nagaremono [Tokyo Drifter] (Seijun Suzuki, 1966) - 6/10
Desperate Living (John Waters, 1977) - 11/10 - seriously, a new favourite. It is fucking INSANE and completely and totally awesome.
Rating films is so awkward, it doesn't even mean anything. My rating system is based on how much I like something and enjoy watching it, rather than how technically brilliant it is or however worthy it is or whatever such nonsense. Eh, so I joined the Australian equivalent of Netflix and I AM IN LOVE. Fuck, DVDs in the mail, almost every single title on region 4 ever! Too good, like I said, in love. Totally.
Anyway, I'm on full holidays - no work at all! - until next Monday and we've got relatives staying over and it's going to be good times.
