What do you say to people?
Have just had a text message; my friend has been told today that they have lost the baby.
I honestly never know what to say to people at a time like this because 1) I've never been pregnant let alone lost a child and 2) everyone is an individual and reacts differently.
What I've said is that I'm sorry to hear about the loss of the baby and I'm here if she needs to or wants to talk or anything else. I've told her I won't push her to talk about anything and I'll leave it up to her when she feels ready to contact me, but that I'm not going anywhere and will be here if she wants me.
I believe she was around 12 weeks pregnant. I have no idea if they'd told their other child about the new baby or not. I'm kind of hoping not as the little one is only 3 anyway and I doubt would understand.
